Costco Kirkland Oven Browned Turkey Breast Review
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Ease: Super Easy
Cost: $14.97 (cost varies by pound)
The Kirkland-brand turkey breast from Costco is somewhere between a deli-sliced meat and a hot, oven-roasted turkey. Essentially, it tastes better than your average sliced turkey breast.
But does it taste like an easy Thanksgiving roast? Not exactly.
Overall, I really enjoyed this turkey, and I will definitely buy it again. It’s convenient, affordable, and tasty. Plus, it can be used in a ton of different meals that can be thrown together pretty quickly. Which means that now I’m a huge Costco Kirkland oven-browned turkey breast stan.
Find out how to cook this turkey (or if you even need to), the best ways to use it in meals, and how much it costs in my review.

Flavor Rating
This turkey tasted great — especially for a pre-roasted bird. It wasn’t too dissimilar from the texture of a turkey breast you’d roast yourself at home. It was juicy and flavorful, and it didn’t taste salty (which I was worried about before I tried it, to be honest). The texture was slightly flaky, so it didn’t remind me of overly-processed deli meat at all.
Preparation Rating
I rated the Kirkland turkey breast a high preparation rating because all I had to do was slice and eat it. It works great cold on a sandwich or warmed up and served with sides. If you choose to warm it up, I’d recommend just heating it in a skillet on medium-low heat for a few minutes.
Costco Turkey Breast Price Rating
Costco prices this turkey breast based on weight. You can purchase a larger breast for around $30, but I had more than enough meat in the smaller size for just under $15. I sectioned the breast into four packets (one to keep on hand in the refrigerator and four to freeze for later).
Costco Turkey Breast Cooking Instructions
I mostly ate this oven-roasted turkey on sandwiches or warmed up in a skillet as a main dish that I served with a few sides. It’s a fully-cooked turkey breast, so you don’t need to “cook” it yourself.
If you choose to eat it warmed up, just pop a few slices in a skillet on medium-low heat and let it cook for about five minutes: easy peasy!
Want to make a toasted turkey sandwich? Just pop it on some bread and heat it up for around 10 minutes in a preheated 350 F oven.
ideas TO USE COSTCO Turkey Breast
There are plenty of ways to use this versatile turkey breast. The best part? It’s pre-cooked, so it’s ready to use in just a few minutes! Here are some of the ways I used the Kirkland turkey in recipes throughout the week.
Hot Turkey Sandwich
This was my preferred way to use the Kirkland turkey breast. I sliced up a loaf of the Costco walnut cranberry bread and toasted two of the slices. Then, I spread some pepper cranberry jelly and horseradish mayo on the toasted bread, and I topped one slice with my turkey and some cheddar cheese and broiled it on high for a few minutes.
I would have added some arugula to the sandwich after broiling the cheese, but sadly, I was out of greens!
TURKEY DINNER
The Kirkland oven-browned turkey won’t suffice as a substitute for a home-roasted turkey on Thanksgiving, but it’s pretty good for a fast weeknight meal. It would taste great served with roasted sheet pan veggies.
I recommend roasting the Kirkland kale salad on a sheet pan if you enjoy roasted Brussels sprouts.
Other ideas include roasted potatoes, butternut squash, and carrots.
Turkey Pot Pie
This pre-cooked turkey would taste great in any dish you’d make with leftover Thanksgiving turkey — including turkey pot pie. To make an easy turkey pot pie with the Kirkland oven-browned turkey breast, follow these instructions:
1. Heat some pre-chopped mirepoix (onions, carrots, and celery) in 1/3 cup of butter in a pot on medium heat.
2. Sprinkle in some flour or other thickening agent (arrowroot or potato starch works well, too), and stir to prevent it from clumping.
3. Slowly pour in some half-and-half and milk (I used about 1/4 cup of each); then add a cup of broth.
4. Once the mixture is thick, add a few handfuls of frozen peas and some chunks of the Kirkland turkey.
5. Pour the mixture into a store-bought pie crust, or into a baking dish and top with those biscuits that you find in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
6. Bake according to the directions on the pie crust or biscuit package.

Costco Turkey Breast FAQs
-
Yes, to some degree, this turkey is processed — but not as heavily processed as deli meat. You’ll find the processing of the Kirkland oven-browned turkey breast is somewhere between an uncooked turkey breast and deli meat turkey.
-
The Costco packaging advises to eat this turkey or freeze it within three weeks of purchasing it. I cut up the turkey, sectioned it into fourths, and froze 1/3 of it within a few days of purchasing it.
-
For best results, I simply heated the turkey breast in a skillet on medium heat for a few minutes or added the cold chunks of meat to recipes and gently cooked it. You could microwave it, but it may get tough, depending on your microwave.
